History and Current Status

Question Why was a statewide education, advocacy and training movement. Question Why began in January of 2001, with start-up funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the vision of committed adults from the NC Tobacco Prevention and Control Branch and local agencies. Starting in 2003 the Question Why Program was funded by the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund and then by the NC Department of Health and Human Services. Due to cuts in funding, beginning July 1st, 2012, Question Why services will no longer be available.  Please feel free to use any resources found on this site. If you find yourself needing additional technical assistance please contact the NC Tobacco Prevention and Control Branch. If you would like to request trainings in any of the topics listed on the Trainings Page of this site please contact Youth Empowered Solutions.
